Buying kids' beds should be quite exciting. There are so many different options, you won’t know which way to go. If the bedroom is already decorated, it may be a little easier, as you’ll know the colour scheme, theme (if any), and available space for the bed.
Measuring how much room there is in the bedroom is essential before buying a bed for your child; you don’t want to spend hours assembling it at home to find that its four inches too wide for the space.
Once you’ve done that, think about the storage in the room and your child’s personality. If they are a very active, very bouncy, maybe a little clumsy, kid, then a high-sleeper is possibly not the best option. On the other hand, if your little one really enjoys reading, and likes to keep toys and books and teddies by the bed, a mid or high sleeper could be ideal.
If the bedroom has plenty of storage, by way of wardrobes chest of drawers, storage boxes, you’ll have pretty free reign over the practicality of the bed. On the other hand, if the room is quite small, maximising space will be paramount. Choosing a bed with storage underneath or a spare mattress will probably make a big difference to clutter or toys.
