Help your children grow with a height chart
Most children find the idea of their getting taller very exciting. They don’t really understand their bodies, and like to be competitive with their siblings. It may not be fair to measure who is the tallest, but you can measure who is growing most quickly.
There are all sorts of ways of measuring your children’s heights, and you can even do it with a tape measure stuck to the side of a big piece of your children’s furniture.
A more attractive and exciting way to do it is to buy a height chart. These can be shaped like dinosaurs, ballerinas, diggers, lighthouses, or even giraffes. Choosing a height chart that your child or children will like is paramount, as they won’t want to stand by it and be measured if they think it’s horrible.
To install a height chart you’ll need to measure a distance (between 30cm and a metre) from the floor and make a mark on the wall. When you go to attach the chart to the wall (or wardrobe) make sure that the mark lines up exactly with the same point on the height chart.
Otherwise you might find that your children think they’re almost 4 foot, when actually, they’re a good three inches short of it!
