Choosing your child’s first bed

It’s amazing just how quickly children seem to grow up. It only seems like 5 minutes since you were bringing them home from the hospital and placing them in a cot or moses basket. Babies outgrow their cots fast, and it’s not long before they’ll need a fully fledged bed.

Children’s beds come in a range of different styles and sizes, and there are some great themed beds on the market today.

Choosing your child’s first bed should be fun, and choosing a quirky bed that they love will also help to make the transition from cot to bed much easier.

If you don’t feel that your child is quite ready for a full single bed, junior beds are a great choice. These beds are shorter than standard single beds, and some styles are even extendable- which means that you won’t have to invest in a new bed when they start to grow even more.

If you’re opting for a single bed, you don’t have to settle for a plain, simple wooden bed. Children’s single beds are available in some great styles- including dinosaur, digger and racing car bed for boys, and flower, horse and carriage and pretty pink beds for girls.

Put a little thought into buying children’s bed, and make their bedtime routine a little more fun.
