KidzDens is all about dens for kids. Creating fantastic, exciting and stimulating places for children to grow up in.
The first place to start is with your children's furniture and beds. Do your children have the right bed, and the furniture to complement it? Do you want fun and funky kid's beds, or furniture that will last them through their teens, and grow with them? Our bunk beds and cabin beds provide versatile options to make the most of limited space in smaller rooms.
Once your children's furniture is settled, move on the design of the room. Will you design a fantastical princess themed room, a cosmic space bedroom, a pretty butterfly themed room or a perilous pirate themed room?
The choices are limited only by the imagination..
Cabin beds are slightly raised up to give a small amount of extra storage, either for younger children who are too young to go into a midsleeper or bunk bed, or for older children who no longer want a high bed. The extra height of a cabin bed is often used to incorporate a pull out sleepover bed which can be utilised when you have guests to stay. Our cabin beds can also incorporate storage in the form of shelves, drawers or both to give extra versatility to your child's room.
Our midsleeper beds are another step up in height from the cabin beds, for when you kids are able to climb a ladder at night. Midsleepers enable you to utilise the extra floor space under the child's bed for extra options such as dens (with the use of a play tent), storage (with drawers shelves and cube units) and study (with pull out desks and bookshelves).
It’s that time of year again, that many parents across the UK dread and no we don’t mean Christmas! We are in fact referring to the return of the winter Saturday night talent shows such as the X factor and Strictly Come Dancing! While they are great fun and engage your children, they also pose a real threat to your childrens furniture. Traditionally, children use kids beds as trampolines, now your classic stompa bed may have to double as a stage. Can you imagine the strain that a bed will face, with a couple of six year olds enacting the latest JLS routine on it? This is where the sturdy design and high quality build values of Stompa, really come to the fore. Stompa are a Norwegian company, who have been making “safe furniture for active children”, for over a hundred years. If your little ones are Glee or High School Musical crazy, then check out our range of accessories for their room. Such as, themed childrens bedding or character wall stickers. At kidzdens, we aim to allow you to create the perfect space for your little ones to live out their fantasies in a safe environment. Stocking products from great manufacturers such as Stompa and Thuka furniture for kids is simply part of this process. Stompa beds lend themselves to the concept of a popstars dream, as they are packed with storage areas, for all the glitzy accessories. Take the Stompa Casa 05 Highsleeper, which features space underneath the bunk, which can be filled with a cool sofa to chill out on after a tiring routine. Alternatively, this space can be used to house the numerous awards, which they are undoubtedly going to accumulate. If imminent pop stardom isn’t your kids thing, then check out our range of other themes for inspiration. Another great quality of the Stompa range is its simplicity in terms of styling. This means that pieces of Stompa childrens furniture easily fit into any theme of room. The use of carefully chosen kids bedding, can easily link the bed space into the same theme as the rest of the room.
Whilst we accept that new babies are prone to waking up in the night, once children gets to a certain age, adults fairly reasonably begin to hope they’ll start to get a full night’s sleep again... One day… Please? At Kidzdens, we empathise with the dread of sleep deprivation but we are also well aware that parents are often their own worst enemies when it comes to helping their kids beds get a full night’s use! Here we’re going to take a look at how to break the cycle and help the whole family, children included. Generally after about 3 months, your child can hold enough food in their belly not to be hungry overnight. Thereafter, any wakefulness is a consequence of habit and, in lots of cases, our babies not having picked up the requisite “falling asleep” skills, when they’re tucked up in their kids beds. And if this is the case then, unfortunately, us parents are reaping what we’ve sown for it is usually the case that the very strategies you rely on - jiggling, nursing, singing, etc – are those that your baby becomes reliant on every time his sleep cycle brings him into a light sleep state; and so you’ll be obliged to jiggle, suckle, etc every 90 minutes or so throughout the night. So, clearly, you need to encourage your baby to pick up healthy sleep habits. Ensuring they’re awake when you put them into your beds for kids is central. If they fuss or cry, engage and comfort them but always return to the kids beds awake. Your babies will gradually learn to comfort themselves to sleep. As they get older, the issue becomes less about whether they can fall asleep and more about their conscious desire to be there in the first place. Creating an environment that they want to be in becomes crucial, with childrens furniture that is the right size for them and is decorated with colours and characters that they love will help children establish a direct causal connection between their bed and comfort. Kidzdens have a fantastic array of kids beds, kids bedding and accessories along with broader ranges of childrens furniture that will ensure your kids love their bedroom and love spending time there. Making sure they can get to sleep once they’re in there, however, is of course down to teaching them the skills to help themselves.
When choosing furniture for kids, you can be disheartened by the overwhelming levels of TV branded items such as Hello Kitty dressers and JCB kids desks. Here at Kidzdens, we understand that while some branded products are fun, not all parents want to fill their kids room with them. Choosing furniture for kids from our range means that you can still have funky and fun pieces without the extra expense of branding. Take our Thuka and Stompa ranges of kids beds, which both incorporate great structural design without the addition of extra character detail. Alternatively we have a range of childrens furniture which features unbranded characters, such as the Jungle Roar range from Just 4 Kids. These pieces feature a comical monkey, zebra, zebra and a whole host of jungle friends. As these characters do not come with a tv programme, your little one can make up their own stories for the characters. Perhaps you like the idea of allowing your children to represent their favourite characters in their rooms, then maybe childrens bedding is the way to go. While good furniture for kids is designed to be resilient and therefore long lasting, kids bedding is a lot more interchangeable. Furniture for kids is not simply small furniture, if well designed it have numerous features that are perfect for children. For example childrens bedroom furniture is generally designed to conserve space, while creating the most storage opportunities as possible. As any parent can tell you, childrens toys tend to take over the house, no matter how hard you try. One suggestion to limit the spread is the introduction of kid furniture in adult spaces. For example try a Thuka 2 shelf bookcase in the lounge, as the simple styling will allow it to blend into any décor. Then tell your children to tidy all of their toys onto the shelves when they have finished playing with them, this could then be enforced with a confiscation of toys left untidy. The creation of a childrens space with the use of kids furniture is a great way to create boundaries and develop responsibility for older children. At Kidzdens we have a huge range of childrens furniture in stock, so we are confident that you will find a piece of furniture no matter what theme you are working with.
